Was in Vang Vieng overnight. The afternoon I arrived I went around with this vietnamese guy Thang that I met in Bangkok on a motorbike and saw two caves. the first was lit and had handrails and paths. the second was 15km out of the town to the north. we walked through a village that was in front of the caves, they charged us some money for crossing their bridge & for entering the caves themselves. One of the girls there was really pretty & seemed very giggly.

On the way to the further cave, we passed by some villagers playing the volleyball version of takraw (except the lao name for the game), and we passed some dry rice fields where some cows were eating hay. The cave itself was dark & very big. Apparently it was 1 km long (according to the boy from the village stationed in front of the cave to collect tourist money). I only had my small LED flashlight, so it was hard to see where I was going. Thang decided not to venture in too far.

I don't know enough about caves to appreciate them, I guess. They all seem similar to me -- dark and wet.

On the way back out, I noticed that the girl had changed her shirt -- some dark blue polo shirt or knock off.

"You changed your shirt," I said, pinching my own shirt, since she probably doesn't understand much english. She looked down at her shirt and giggled and looked even more embarrassed than before.

I asked her if I could take her picture. She didn't want me to. So Thang and I left. After we crossed back over the bridge and got on the motorbike, I saw her sitting on the close side of her thatched building, looking at us. So I waved at her & she waved back.
