As a child, I couched the world in terms of "good" and "bad." I dogmatically believed that characters in movies and TV shows belonged in one of those two categories. If a character was difficult to classify, it was simply because they did not show their true colors during their time on the screen. It never occured to me that the classification system may have been inadequate for modelling human behavior.
