I'm updating my resume today. It seems like the most recent version that I had doesn't exist anymore -- the last version I have is from 1997. It's been difficult, racking my brain to try and reconstruct what happened between then and now.

I started shopping for a phone/handheld today. When I went out to buy a closet door hinge for Monty and some food, I played around with some of the models in CompUSA. Some are good, some are bad. But I wonder if I really want to spend the money for one.

Monday I played with some palm pilot software, caught up on email, chatted, and basically futzed.

On sunday, I spent most of my time working on my web page. PHP is really quite nice. That evening Cynthia and I went out to this Thai restaurant that I think recently opened on Powell. The food there was reasonable. The girls working there were much cuter than the guy.

We got kicked out of Borders because we sat there until closing time, reading. I bought a chinese dictionary that seems pretty good so far.

Saturday, I went hiking with Melissa and Monty on Mount Tam. After we got back, we decided to go to Juan's Place since I mentioned that I could possibly drink a Horchata. As we were getting in the car, this homeless guy (he's black if that matters) comes toward us with his shopping cart and says something I don't understand. Monty understood what he said and responded, and the guy launches into a 15 minute discussion about how he lost the love of his life (she's in texas) and how Monty shouldn't lose Melissa, and how it doesn't make sense that only two of the three planes that crashed into those tall buildings, what are they called again, it doesn't make sense that the third one didn't make it, it was going to hit the most important target, think about it...

I think that he just liked the fact that we were listening to him.

I ended up shaking his hand after I asked him what his name was. His hand felt covered with the dirt of the ages. His name is Charles

I spent a really long time today figuring out how to input chinese text on my computer. It's about 735 times easier to figure out on a Macintosh or on a Windows machine.

Tonight, this guy came up to me as I was walking back from Pack and Save. He asked me how I was doing and emphatically but deliberately touched my arm with his hand. I think that any other time in my life, I would have been scared out of my wits.

I don't know if it was the fact that I better understand now that everybody is "just another person," or the fact that both my hands were completely full of groceries, so I couldn't really do anything other than keep walking, anyway.
