I arrived back in Kunming this morning after spending 2 extra days in Zhongdian
hanging out at the guesthouse practicing Chinese all day with the people that
worked there. One day there, I bought some crunchy pastries called "mahua" and
shared them with the people at the guesthouse. The guesthouse owner really
liked them, so the next day, I bought more and brought them back to the
guesthouse to share. When I saw him walk in, I didn't know how to offer them
to him, so I said "mahua." Then I corrected myself and said "chi mahua." (eat
"mahua"). Everyone thought that I was calling him that as a name, so the next
day, everyone called him "mahua."
I just bought a plane ticket for India. I should arrive in New Delhi, India
(going through Bangkok, fancy that) 2245 tonight. Assuming that I get to the
airport in time. I bought the ticket today after arriving in Kunming and the
plane leaves in 90 minutes. And I'm not yet at the airport.
If trying to get into law school or some CS related grad school doesn't work
out once I get back, I'm currently strongly considering trying to find a job
where I can telecommute and moving back to Yunnan.

I just realized today that most of my pictures from Laos were in the bag that was stolen. Frustration renewed.
